  • Founding President of both the World Life Saving Movement and the International Lifesaving Federation.
  • The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopters, the ‘rubber ducky’ inflatable rescue boats, and the torpedo rescue tubes were all innovations that were brought to Australia’s beaches and communities under Kevin’s leadership.
  • Became the Founding managing director of the Paul Hamlyn Group in 1964, the most successful publishing venture Australia had seen to date and went on to form his own company in 1980 publishing a large list of titles including the Macquarie Dictionary.

Dr Paul Scully-Power AM, DSM, NSM, GOSE, DSc(Syd), BSc(Hons), DipEd

OCEANOGRAPHER, INTEGRATOR, STRATEGIST AND AUSTRALIA’S FIRST ASTRONAUT FLYING ABOARD CHALLENGER ON THE 13TH MISSION OF THE SPACE SHUTTLE.
  • Held the Distinguished Chair of Underwater Acoustics in the US Navy, and was a Research Associate at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Chairman of Membership of the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering.
  • Served with the Royal Australian Navy, the UK Royal Navy, the US Navy, NASA, the Pentagon, US Military Intelligence and the White House, and held executive appointments in high tech, defense and security programs under Presidents Carter, Reagan, Bush, and Clinton.

Mr Eddie Bennet VM, MAIES, MIAEM, JP(Qual), GCertEM

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Specialist in the management of emergencies and disasters with over 30 years active involvement in aviation, marine and land search and rescue.
  • Qualified NVG helicopter rescue air crewman with over 3000 flight hours including over 25 years with the Westpac Helicopter Rescue Service, including as Chief Training Officer, Chief Examiner, Crew Chief, Operations Coordinator, State Tasking Officer and is the longest serving State Aerial Services Officer.
  • Held Officer in Charge, operational, tactical and management roles in the Queensland Police Service including Water Police, Search and Rescue Coordinator.
  • Currently a Director at the Medical Rescue Training Academy and All Terrain Driving.
  • The recipient of the International Life Saving Citation of Merit, Surf Life Saving’s Jack McMaster Medal for Outstanding Leadership, National Meritorious Service Medal, National Emergency Response Medal, National Police Service Medal, Police Ethical and Diligent Service Medal, Queensland Flood Citation and recognized as Queensland Regional Achiever of the Year.

Ben Trollope

CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

  • Experienced UAV professional proficient in the use of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s) within domestic and commercial applications.
  • Skills include robotics, IT programming, autonomous solutions, flight planning, flying, data collection and processing, knowledge of CASA RPAS regulations.
  • Ben has applied communication, navigation, search and rescue (SAR) operations and emergency response experience with his background in manned aviation and currently implements these specialised skills into his work within the UAV industry.

Leanne St George

Media and Communication

  • 25 years experience in sponsorship, events and public relations management in national and international events, working extensively through out Australia, New Zealand, China, Hawaii, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.
  • Leanne heads up, LSG & Associates Pty Ltd, working with the Ripper Group on all media and communication deliveries.  She has worked with national events and major sponsorships in Rugby Union, Rugby League and Australian Rules Football, Cricket, Horse Racing, Surf Life Saving Series, Golf, Polo, the V8 Supercar Championship series and Indy car racing.
  • Leanne has a Bachelor of Business Communication with a double major in Public Relations and Journalism.

Jason Young

Business Development Manager

  • 14 years experience, in retailing, cycling team management, account management and business development.
  • Owned and operated his own motorcycle retail & workshop businesses.
  • Most recent role as the national key account and business development manger for Australasia’s biggest bicycle distributor, Sheppard Cycles delivering triple sales growth.
  • A passion for aviation has lead him to join the Little Ripper Group, were he will manage the sales and new business opportunities. He will work closely with our engineers and operations teams to provide the very best product and service for our customers and join venture partnerships.

Tony Gordon

Brand and Publishing Manager

  • Designer and Production manager of a long list of books and magazines.
  • Helped formulate, then designed and produced the first Australian Geographic Journal for Dick Smith in 1985 and remained the company’s Creative Director for 17 years.
  • Formed Tony Gordon Printcounsel in 2001 offering Print Management and Production consultancy.
  • Previously a director of Shree Media Pty Ltd, publisher of Simply Living and Blackmore’s Nature & Health magazines; and boutique publisher Golden Gecko Press. Creative Director Australia’s Heritage Publishing.

Delivering crop health metrics to the agricultural sector and Live Broadcast to Fox Sports through the use of systems designed in house is testament to the company’s wide variety of skills and capabilities.

Company Directors

Tim Howell has a rich aviation history with a career as a commercial pilot before launching Alicanto Media as the company’s chief pilot.

Stu Adam founded Alicanto after a career in mainstream media, most recently working at Fox Sports and Channel 7.

Rouley Ragg studied Aerospace Avionics Engineering, which has led to a prominent role in Australia’s UAV industry, launching a custom drone start up before joining the Alicanto Team.
A licensed UAV operator, Rouley leads every element of the design process to maximise the potential of Alicanto’s wide variety of custom airframes.
